George Khabbaz in Suzi Nassif Paintings
George Khabbaz wears many hats. Born in Lebanese, he is an actor, a writer, a musician, a playwright, a director, a theatre professional and has produced many films. As the diverse personality he is, he comfortably wears these many hats and shines while on them. George has grown in leaps and bounds in his career.
His talents may have originated from his family of artists. His father was an actor too who acted in many plays, some of which are; Les Miserables, Parisiana Sidewalk, Youth 73 and also in several television plays. No wonder the son is filled with so much diverse talent. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree in this case.
His mother too can’t be left out as she is also a talented actor. She participated in numerous plays and in festivals held in September in her local church.
In a bid to hone his art, George Khabbaz studied musical science and theatre and eventually specialized in musical theatre. He is not one to stint on his talent since he had known what he was about from the age of 4 when he stood on stage for the first time in his life and participated in the school play titled Saint Maron’s life. That was the moment he found his calling and he started towing that path professionally in 1994.
He is especially drawn to comedy and plays which have comedic undertone as he feels that is where he shines most. Although he began with comedy, his talent was such that it couldn’t be contained to one genre. As seen now, he shines at wherever he is placed and that has given him a major boost in his career.
George finds a lot of satisfaction knowing that lots of people gather every time to watch his creations. The idea that in one way or the other, he is responsible for bringing smiles onto the faces of his fans and impacting their lives in a little way through the stories he shares gives him the fuel he needs to keep moving and keep producing epic movies and plays.
