Interpreting Abstract Art
Again, when someone asks me, what is Abstract Art? I will repeat the same words of Pablo Picasso because everyone wants to understand art. Why not try to understand the song of a bird? People who try to explain pictures are usually barking up the wrong tree.
It sums up everything! But the purpose of this article is to convey the same thing and why it is so?
Ok, for me, Abstract Art is simply about getting something from something else. Abstract Art is the central stream of Modern Art. It is a non-representative art form. You can love it, like me, or hate it or scratch your head in confusion while seeing one in the art gallery to understand it.
Next time if you happen to see any abstract art, think of what it is, mostly, you will get only one thought while seeing abstract art “Is abstract art really ‘art’ at all?” Do you want parents or friends to approve your abstract art? They won’t do that most of the time and it isn’t their mistake. First of all, if you need others to approve your art, it will not happen any time sooner. Maybe it will not be the case at all. Just please yourself because you know you can’t please everyone.
Another thing is, Abstract arts are seen through the mind, not with the eyes. For me, as I said, Abstract Art is a way of seeing things and outpouring emotions. That’s it. Don’t ever complicate things.
It is the perspective of a person and it differs from one to another. It is like poetry, if you read it you will get something from it, another one may not think the same as you and get something different from the same work. Is it wrong? Nope! If you see numeric 6 upsides down, it would look like 9. Whom will you blame now? No one! It is all perspective of how one sees things.
And another thing is if you pour all your emotions into your art! It will not convey the same thing to another person who sees it. Though your audience is the one that will bring meaning to art most of the time. It is their emotions that find associations with abstract art.
You can ask me, who is a famous artist for this type of art?
Have you ever heard of the famous portrait artist Suzi Nassif? She is a queen of modern arts! The beauty is, her perspective on Abstract art is very elementary she presents her honest ideas or feelings that have become her own tradition as an artist.
Hereafter, if anyone asks what is Abstract Art? Tell them, it can be anything you want it to be. It can’t only be an interpretation of what you see or what you feel, but also what you hear.
